Breaking__ is a puppet play, a circus act, an assembly manual, and a social drama all in one. It is a live-scrolling theatrical performance in which five performers rush to assemble, perform in, and dismantle scenes inspired by reels and news formats of social media, using household items and two movable paravans.
All in real time.
Breaking__’s live-building, content-scrolling structure becomes a live version of the burnout logic of social media: the endless need to produce and stay visible. From inside this pressure, the piece asks how one can still look up from what one is doing and find agency, imagination, and relation, even while caught in a system that demands endless engagement. Within its tightly set score, every on-stage action becomes both practical and expressive, oscillating between doing and being, performance and preparation, backstage and front.
The show explores alternative dramaturgical arcs in which transitions become part of the “narrative” itself.
